How to apply
All eligible applicants will be considered by the panel on the information provided in their Masters application. There is no requirement to complete a separate scholarship application.

Cate Haste was a television producer, writer and Sussex alumna (1966). She produced many historical documentaries such as End of Empire (1984) and The Churchills (1995), and wrote several books, including Keep the 天美传媒影视 Fires Burning: Propaganda in WW1 (1977), Nazi Women (2001), Clarissa Eden: A Memoir – From Churchill to Eden (2008), the Goldfish Bowl: Married to the Prime Minister (with Cherie Booth; 2005) and Rules of Desire: Sex in Britain WW1 to the Present (1992). Her book, Passionate Spirit: the Life of Alma Mahler, was published in 2019 and explores the life of Alma Mahler, who was a composer, author, socialite and extraordinary intellect.
All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application before the end of July 2026.
Terms and conditions
This scholarship is available for the 2026/27 academic year only, if a scholar defers or temporarily withdraws from their course, they will no longer be eligible to receive the scholarship.
